Nick Peña is a Memphis-based visual artist and educator with an extensive exhibition record and numerous honors and publications, including two features in New Ameri-can Paintings. He earned a B.F.A. from the School of Art and Design at Southern Illi-nois University –Carbondale; his M.F.A from the University of Missouri –Columbia; and has studied abroad at the Hospitalfield House, Art Centre in Arbroath, Scotland. Peña’s work has been showcased in gallery and museum exhibitions in Memphis, Nashville, New York, Savannah, Seattle, Santa Fe, and Tulsa. He’s participated as an artist in residence at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Crosstown Arts, and North Louisiana Virtual Residency —The Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation in partnership with North Central Louisiana Arts Council. Nick Peña is currently an Associate Professor of Art at Christian Brothers University and the co-founder/owner of Wonder / Cowork / Create a coworking space for creative thinkers.
Cat Peña (BFA/MFA) is an artist, art administrator, and public art consultant living in Memphis Tennessee. Peña’s artwork has been exhibited in Seattle, New York, Chicago, Memphis, St. Louis, Boulder, Las Vegas, Kansas City, and Milwaukee. Peña has received public art commissions from the Downtown Memphis Commission, UrbanArt Commission, The Dixon Gallery and Gardens, and the Tennessee Department of Transportation. In 2016 she was selected to attend an artist residency in New York City called City as Site at the School of Visual Arts. Outside of her studio practice Peña is dedicated to exploring Public Art and Social Practices in collaborations with nonprofits and community organizations. In 2014 Peña founded a creative platform called Collaboratory to expand public art practices in Memphis through socially engaged projects and research based collaborations. Currently, Peña is serving as the Public Art Manager for the City of Germantown and co-founder of Wonder/ Cowork/ Create.
